No More Bad News!
Could you use some good news? Does it seem that everywhere you turn bad news is staring you in the face? Well, “fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy!” (Luke 2:10) As you take a fresh look at Jesus and the amazing price He paid to rescue your lost soul, don’t be surprised if the joy of your salvation begins to overshadow all the heartaches of this life. Whether you are experiencing financial troubles, a broken relationship, or a serious illness — whatever your hardship, the gospel is always good news! If you have truly given your heart to Jesus, the painful trials that you face on this earth are all the hell you will ever know. It can only get better from here. There is a glorious future ahead of you. As the cross becomes the focal point of your life, you will find great comfort in remembering that your soul has been ransomed by the wonderful and mysterious love of Jesus Christ. Even in your darkest night, you will find peace as you remind yourself, “I still have Jesus, and it is well with my soul for all eternity!”
Like flowers of the field, our days quickly fade,
Vanishing with the wind, never to be replayed.
Oh, that we not waste them, short as they may be,
But live every moment in the light of eternity,
Knowing that our time here will soon come to an end,
And that our greatest joy lies just around the bend!
Sheltered in His Love
Jesus is not only able to carry you in His strong arms — He loves to carry you! You are so precious to Him. My dear friend, your tears have not gone unseen. Although you may feel that God has disappeared, He is still with you, and He has not closed His eyes to your pain. You can be assured that no matter what comes your way, God “will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5b) As you cling to Jesus, you will discover a peace that doesn’t even make sense. There is a mysterious calm that settles over the soul that places its trust in God. Come to God by faith and lay your burden at His feet. It may be weighing you down, but it is not too heavy for Him to bear.
You are God’s precious lamb, and He wants to carry you,
For He sees the painful trial that you are going through.
He knows your burden’s heavy and your grief is very real,
But He has not deserted you, no matter how you feel.
You can trustfully lay your head close against His chest,
For He’s a faithful Shepherd who will give you perfect rest.
In the shelter of His arms, you can face the stormy weather,
Comforted in knowing that you’ll walk through this together.
